History at the Little Sugar Farm
My sister Niki and I inherited the Little Sugar Farm in 2006. A farm that has been in our family since the early 1900s and our ancestors on our grandmother’s side date back to the surrounding area from 1850.
Most people when they inherit a large piece of land sell it. We decided not to, and the reason being is because of our memories growing up in the summers on the farm and visiting our grandparents every chance we got. It hasn’t been easy to keep up with the farmhouse and now the glamping business. It’s a lot of work especially for two people but we manage and we have had thousands of guests over the years in our farmhouse and now hundreds on our glampground.
What makes this worth it? Knowing that when people come to our farm they relax, unwind and create their own stories and memories just like my sister Niki and I did when we were little girls. Ahhh, the stories. I have SO many of them to tell. I wrote some down years ago so will now put them down on this blog and I promise this blog is AI free. It’s all me telling ya’ll how the story of the farm came about. How we work on it now. The good, the not so good. The thrill of having people surprised when they get here and actually experience what we’ve created and what actually our grandparent’s and Daddy gave us in character and resolve to love something as much as they did and care for it like they did.
It’s a good life here, Paul and I now live on the farm on countrytime and after over 50 years of being a city girl I can honestly say I’m finally home in the country.
Welcome to the Little Sugar Farm where we’ve created a new story.
Love!
